## Start of the owner economy.

We are optimists.

We see AI as a way to expand human potential, not just a way to automate more of our work. As AI becomes more capable, it can open possibilities for the people whose ideas have always exceeded their means.

Too much of the conversation today ends with the jobs and tasks that AI can now take over. At Edaphic, we are interested in what people can accomplish when those capabilities become theirs to use.

## The Fortune 5,000,000

Building a software business has long depended on access to networks that are difficult to enter from the outside. They connect founders to capital, technical talent, customers, and the experience to make it all work.

Having spent decades within those networks, we’ve seen what makes them powerful. But Silicon Valley did not invent human potential. It just became exceptionally good at organizing the capabilities around it.

> The future is already here.
> It’s just not evenly distributed.

We believe the same capabilities that allow companies to do more with fewer people can allow far more people to build companies of value.

There are millions of people who know their industry, understand its customers, and recognize problems that the rest of the world has overlooked. Someone with that insight might be sitting in San Francisco. But they might also be a dentist in Ohio. A logistics manager in Manila. A property manager in Toronto. A teacher in São Paulo. Or a mother who has spent fifteen years dealing with a problem no VC or Stanford computer science graduate has ever encountered.

There have always been brilliant observations distributed across humanity. What has not been distributed is the machinery required to turn those observations into real companies.

## Building software ≠ Building a company

AI now lets people build software without knowing how to code. But a working product is only the beginning. You still have to find customers, earn their trust, and give them a reason to stay. You have to understand why people leave, decide what to change, and measure whether it worked. And you have to support what you ship and keep the economics working.

With the right capabilities around them, a person’s insight can become a product customers pay to use. Their effort builds a business. They retain a stake in its future.

That is what we mean by the owner economy: more people turning their knowledge, judgment, and initiative into businesses they own. Our ambition is to make that possibility practical and accessible for the millions of people the technology industry has never thought to build for.

We are building Edaphic to help people turn problems they understand into businesses they own, bringing product, engineering, growth, and operations together around the founder.

## A note from Tim: The Circle Widens

Tim Chae, Founder/CEO, Edaphic (formerly Managing Partner, 500 Global). October 2026.

I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have been able to work with some of the most capable founders in the world during my 13 year tenure at 500 Global — first as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence and the last six years as Managing Partner. I watched new industries take shape, new problems become solvable, and deeply personal convictions by incredible founders grow into category-defining companies.
